Reid shifted underneath the sheets. "Geez man. Don't lean so far near me. Your breath smells like tuna. Ugh." Reid grinned slightly from under the sheets. It was just like when he was a kid. Pogue knew how to get him out of a slump.
But then, this time it was different. Reid could still smell Taylor's scent, even in his mind he could hear the gentle voice and normally remember the warm body that would cling up against him...Gone. All gone.
"I miss him, man. He wasn't normal. Like you know me." Reid pushed the covers down a bit so he could meet Pogue's face, not eyes directly but face. "I date a girl. Do her. Ditch her. Get over it. Don't get attached, just like Dad says. And now what? I'm suddenly attached? And to a dude! And on top of that, as if my fucking powers weren't enough! He's pissed at me. And is more then likely calling it quits even though I announced my fucking gayness to the world!..."
Reid sent him a small smile though, "Sarah was a pretty good kisser though..."
"Seriously?" Pogue's hand came to his face sarcastically while allowing himself to breath on it, as if testing Reid's theory. Sooner or later though he let another smile form at the corner of his lips. A smile that was quick to begin turning upside down the more Reid went on about how painful the absence of Taylor was.
"I guess I'm next in line then." Another sarcastic comment towards Reid's remark about Sarag. Eventually though he shook his head and got serious again. "He's not gonna do that man.. I think he'll realize how little a stolen kiss meant compared to what you two have if he feels the same way. Besides, come on it's Sarah. Hah, unless there's some sort of love triangle going on between you, her, and Caleb--In which I would have to say, Sarah is pretty damn good--then everyone knows she's smart enough not to remotely date you. Hahah. He's probably just angry right now, give it time man."
Reid just stared at Pogue. "I'm sorry. Is this your sensitive side? Cause I think I missed it." Reid rolled his eyes but nodded to his friend. He still wasn't feeling that good.
"I know..but...it's complex...that whole love triangle thing...It's uh...um.." Reid flushed and nervously avoided Pogue's eyes.
Wonder what he'd say if I told him his best pal and I kissed...too...
Pogue tilted his head when taking note of Reid's shift of comfort and rather staggered words. Great.. What else have I missed?
"Reid, what it is? We still talkin' about Taylor here and Sarah's lack of interest in you?" His words were sarcastic, but he almost feared the answer as he anxiously waited.
Reid sent Pogue a very nervous and anxious look. "I don't think you'd want to, you'd look down on us. And I don't think it'd be fair to him. Definatly not."
Reid knew he was blabbering but Pogue wasn't going to get anything out of him unless he was violently shaken or just...paid
"I seem to have lost my memory of such an event. Perhaps a few twenties and your bike for a week will refresh my memory."
"Uhh..." Pogue's eyes shifted to the side until he looked back over to Reid with a shake of his head. "I'll just let him tell me eventually, who ever it is.. Besides, a few twenties would be nothing compared to the amount of money I'd have to pay after you've crashed my bike."
Pogue's hand came down to Reid's hair to ruffle it a bit with a small laugh. "Better luck next time, bro."
Reid pouted. "Come on Pogue! Can't you let me ride it once! Ty let's me ride his CAR!" Reid's face froze upon his realisation of how that sounded now that he was out in public gay. "OH GOD! NO! I DIDN'T MEAN THAT!"
Pogue's eyebrows shot up with inquiry before he chuckled again. "Does he now?" Shaking his head, he finally leaned back in his seat and stuffed his hands in his pockets. "What's the point of you asking anyway? We know how it'll go.. You ask, I say no, you steal it anyway, I kick your ass later. It's a never ending cycle."
"Maybe. But it's still nice to ask. I mean I can't push you around like I can Tyler. Caleb's pretty easy. And as for Chase...Well who knows where the hell he is right?"
Reid hadn't wanted to listen to his Father..but now he thought it was a better time then any. "Do you think Chase is still alive?"
He was completely taken by Reid's question, and when Pogue furrowed his eyebrows it was more than enough to let Reid know what he himself thought of that idea. He probably had the biggest grudge against that bastard of all considering what Chase had did to him and Kate. It was actually kind of embarassing to be put into the same hospital as your girlfriend, on the same night, and by the same guy.
"Not a chance.. He wouldn't be that stupid to let himself live considering the amount of pain he'd be put in if he ever showed his face around here again."
"No." Reid said and shook his head. He felt bad for Pogue. But it wasn't like he could say that. "He's tough though. I really don't think Cal could of handled him alone...really." Reid sent him another look.
"C'mon Pogue. That whole thing. We can't just block it out. My Dad says we gotta admit it. He got us. But we'll all ascend soon. He won't stand a chance alive or dead.
Leaning back, Pogue shifted his position in the chair. He was completely uneasy with the ideas of Chase being alive and so accepting the idea wasn't something that would be done easily. Even if it was dangerous and foolish to ignore such a thing.
"Well Reid.. Do you think he's alive?"
Reid shrugged and got out of the bed. "I think it's highly likely." Reid also knew it could just be the hard cold fact that he looked forward to throwing a few jabs at the jerk. No one hurt Caleb like that. Or any of them. And got away with it.
Pogue looked rather frustrated to Reid's words. "Well.. If he is alive we can't exactly do anything until he shows up... No use letting him invade our thoughts now.. I won't give him that advantage."
